Cyclone the storm is predicted to become a rare highest-level hurricane as it veers towards the Caribbean island, bringing dangerous flash flooding and landslides.

This weather system, which had winds of up to 195 km/h as of 6:00 AM GMT, is now shifting toward the northwest in the Caribbean Sea and is expected to hit the coast by midweek, as reported by hurricane specialists.

Warnings of electricity outages and damage to infrastructure have been released as the hurricane produces up to thirty inches of rain and coastal flooding as high as 4m above normal levels. "Seek shelter now," locals have been told.

Melissa is the 13th hurricane in the current Atlantic hurricane season, which typically ends in the eleventh month.
